Kelly Terry In-Class Revision Ideas
For my text-based research project I researched the controversial issue of abortion. In my paper, I first discussed the history behind the legalization of abortion and the Roe v. Wade court decision that dealt with abortion. I am choosing to revise this paper for my Portfolio. My thesis sheds light on the difficulty that the decision to have an abortion entails and how the right to choose is included as a constitutional right. To revise, I should elaborate more as to what is included in my paper. I cover both sides to the issues and I should develop a “road map” at the beginning of my paper to let the reader know what I will discuss in my paper. I think that I use my research wisely and appropriately, but to revise it I can look deeper into my sources and make sure that I understandably describe how the author’s information is useful to my specific project. My final paragraph/conclusion uses an example of an incest victim and makes a final argument as to why women should have the right to choose no matter what. To revise this, I should revisit again the main arguments I made previously in my paper to strengthen my main points. I also should describe why these points are significant and noteworthy.
