In the mapping the local, Google maps project I felt that I struggled to establish my thesis. In the introduction, a general description of our purpose and focus discussed how we wanted to explore the local Denver art scene and the influence that it had on popular culture. I felt that we had two rather different categories of examples. We used public art around the city and other locations that examined how local art can be used to profit local businesses. I think that the thesis struggles to include both of these realities and if I broaden it to include these two different topics I feel I may not be specific enough and will not give the reader a descriptive enough introduction to the project. I feel that a stronger thesis that includes both of the facets of the Denver art scene that I am going to discuss in the paper needs to be included. I am going to find a way to tie these two different aspects of art to establish my purpose throughout the project.
