Meziere_Mapping the Local_In-class

D.I.Y. New York City
This project by Christina was about major locations and events in New York City which represent new artistic, forward thinking individuals. The events she highlighted represented arts in the form of music, books, museums, and architecture. This project gives me the sense that because of NYC's large population and frequent social interaction people makes for people immersed in culture in the forms of art. This is a great model because she is very clear in the examples she presents and how they relate to her subject.

Final Project
This project highlights places with historic significance to New York City and how they continue to be used today. This project gives me the sense that NYC has many hidden jewels, if you will, with some interesting backgrounds. This is not as good of a model as D.I.Y. New York City as it is much less clear. This project did not have an introduction where the author could have explained the significance of the places she wrote about.

Come Together NYC
This project examines New York City's unique culture in terms of music, art, and food. The author does a great job of keeping the text simple yet interesting. This paper gives me a sense that any lover of art and music can come to NYC and be more than satisfied. Regardless of the fact that this paper does not have an introduction, it is still very clear.

Modern Gomorrah
While this author too examined New York City's culture, he took a different approach in explaining the places he choose. He explained the significance in a story-like way, it kept me interested. This paper tells me that NYC has art to offer for everyone. This paper is a good model, it is very unique to the others. It also includes what the actual project is about.
