Jennessa Lever Mapping the Local Examples

D.I.Y. New York City
My overall impression of this project is that is was very thoroughly planned and executed. The author appears to have a large grasp on their topic and the need to investigate many different forms of D.I.Y. entertainment to get a clear view of what is happening.
This is an effective model. It shows exactly what we are supposed to be doing, and how to make it engaging and exciting with pictures, etc.

Final Project
This work has no introduction as the previous did, therefore I am a little unclear as to what is being examined. After further reading it appears to be architecture and décor. However, without the introduction I am unsure. At again another glance, it appears to be very disorganized, and uninformative of any topic whatsoever.
This is not an effective model for me; unless, it was meant to show me possibly not what to do. I am not able to figure out what the purpose of this piece was.

Come Together NYC
As a “what’s what” of what to do in NYC, this piece is very effective. I understand the reasoning behind everything the student put into the piece, and I also feel the need to now attend some of these events
The piece addresses many of the things that I did not think worked in the previous work. Although there is still not an introduction as there was in the first one, I was able to understand what the author (s) were getting at through the places they chose.

Modern Gomorrah
This piece is informative of the places the author chose to explore. However, it is not very cohesive. This is a rather large mosh-posh of venues, and other activities that take place in New York City. Again without an introduction, this is something that could have been brought together.
The model is effective, and is a good example as to the amount of detail, and observational skills that will need to be put to work in order to succeed in this assignment.
